Luke Garrison is a hometown hero, a member of the National Guard ready to deploy again. Strong, sweet, and sexy, he doesn't have a girlfriend and doesn't want one. When the wildly beautiful Harper stumbles into his life, though, he realizes that she's the perfect decoy. A fake girlfriend to keep his family off his back until he's out on another mission.
So what if a single bite of her lip sends his mind to wicked places? He can control himself. Can't he?
Harper was on her way to starting a new life...again. But something about Luke makes her want to settle down in this small town and make Luke's house a home. When his arms wrap around her like steel, she finally knows what it's like to feel safe. Protected.
One night of sleeping in the same bed turns into something much, much more, and soon Luke can't keep his mind off Harper's wide gray eyes, or his hands off of her luscious curves. He never thought he'd feel this way about a woman again. But he knows that he can't tell her the truth about his dark past, and she can't reveal to him what she's running from.
Anyway, this isn't a real relationship. It's only for a month. Only pretend. Until it isn't....
Pretend You're Mine A Small Town Love Story (Audible Audio Edition) Lucy Score Melissa Moran Inc That What She Said Publishing Books
I really loved this story! This is the first book that I laughed, cried, and finished, then immediately re-read, in a long time. I loved their story, I loved Harper's personal conviction and life is too short attitude. That's not to say there weren't some things wrong but since I've re-read the book three times in one week and am now re-reading my favorite parts, I had to give it 5 stars. Here are two things that were slightly annoying:
1. She went to college in Maryland and somehow gets lost getting to her roommates home town? How do you live in a relatively small state and still end up driving two hours in the wrong direction? And I get that this is a fictional place but it'd be nice to know what "big city" she was coming from. I actually think the story should have taken place in a larger state known for it's rural small towns.
2. I know, I know, don't judge a book by its cover but ... I need the cover to interest me. This one did. Then I read the book and it's clear that whoever is on this cover is not the two characters in the book. First off, Luke is described as dark hair and a little scruff (my favorite!) and has some significant tattoos, not true for our cover-guy. Second, Harper is blonde. The cover showing up on my kindle has a dark-haired woman. No idea who these two are supposed to be but maybe the editors could try to pay a little more attention to detail.
Overall, I highly recommend.

Pretend You're Mine A Small Town Love Story (Audible Audio Edition) Lucy Score Melissa Moran Inc That What She Said Publishing Books Reviews
I read lots and lots of romance novels and rarely feel inspired to write a review. This is the exception because I really enjoyed this book and would like to support this new author, I would have bought the next in the series if one had been available....get writing Lucy. This book was one of the best I have read in years. It's well written and the characters made sense, the chemistry between Harper and Luke sizzled, and the relationships between secondary characters made sense and supported the main characters. I especially liked the character of Luke's best friend Aldo, and his relationship with Harper. The teasing and banter back and forth between them was really funny. The book is NOT to long. I read some of the other reviews and while they were all favorable the statement was made that it was to long and the scenes where Harper was planting a garden or cleaning the house could have been eliminated to tighten up the story. I wouldn't change a thing, those kind of scenes when not over done, further develop the character and their life and add to setting development. While reading this book you were able to visualize and see the small town, you could feel it. This book also had the perfect amount of angst and conflict, enough to give it an edge but not so much that you felt like you were drowning in despair. I highly recommend Pretend Your Mine, it is memorable and a great read!
From the first pages, Harper stole my heart. She is one of the VERY BEST female leads I've ever read, if not The Best!
Miss Harper's life, struggles, wonderful attitudes are so close to my heart, you can't help attaching to her instantly the way everyone else does.
It was so refreshing to take a visit to small town USA and meet these lovely characters. To experience love , friendship and family on a level that people miss out on these days. You can have the glamorous, glitzy, city life! Billionaire Boys, Sophisticated Doms - Give me a real life, a real man, and real people any time!
Such a well written story of how full your life truly can be with the right person, perspective's and support.
Lucy's writing, story telling and characters hit 5 stars in all categories for me and earned her a dedicated follower and pimper!
So much story nestled within this mature, modern, steamy romantic/sexy fling - and great secondary characters supporting this hot couple's fun journey. No Pretending Here!! I absolutely loved this book!
Indy writing / writers are just booming! Its getting hard to keep up with all the good books out there and even harder getting these quality writers the recognition they deserve, as fast as they should be getting it!
READ, RAVE, REVIEW, and SHARE every chance you get readers!!! ( I read the next 2 books Lucy has as fast as I could after this happy experience.)
